Why I Love It:

During my trip to London I stopped in Rome for a day (yes, only a day—yes, I also regretted not making it the full trip). I wasn’t expecting much from a hotel during my visit but stumbled across Chapter Roma through Design Hotel website.

Chapter Roma did not disappoint with their design. The hotel perfectly showcases a more 21st century side of Rome with a contemporary/urban design. I stayed during their opening week so everything was pretty fresh and new. I loved the velvet bed frame and couches throughout the property. The grey/white Indian inspired robes and slippers they offered in the rooms was a nice/hip touch. The bathroom brass handles and knobs gave the room a more elegant touch. However, bathroom was pretty basic (but stylish) but having a bidet won me over—my first time having one in a hotel room.

Service was great! They upgraded me to a room with a balcony—while this gesture was great but view was not the best (residential) and room was still on the small side. Although it was their opening week and language barrier, my mom wanted to surprise me and the staff honored her request to have balloons placed in my room as a birthday surprise.

Location is great! I walked to all of the tourist spots in only about a 15-20min time frame. They’re located in the center of all the main attractions and restaurants.

Overall, this hotel is “fun”, dark and hits the nail on contemporary/urban design. If you’re looking for a luxury and “cool” place in Rome, this hotel is the best option. I would definitely stay here every time I return, due to the great service and location.

Three Key Highlights I love:

  • Service

  • Location

  • Design
